Paralox Media at the Grok Bot Meetup Colombo

On behalf of Paralox Media, our founder and CEO Abubakker Bakthathi attended the Grok Bot Meetup Colombo, held at the DHPL Auditorium on Saturday 17 October. It was the first meetup of its kind in Colombo, and it filled the auditorium.

The meetup was about Grok Bot, xAI’s bot, and how teams put it to work across product, design, mobile and go-to-market. Across two sessions with slides, a live demo and Q&A, the audience saw multi-agent Grok Bot setups running on stage, the same kind of agent work we build for clients at Paralox Media.

Between sessions, BuiltList, a platform that shows what Sri Lankans are building, stopped Abubakker for three quick questions. He spoke about his path from freelancer and AI engineer at a UK company, to losing that job, to starting Paralox Media, which today builds AI agents, software, AI creatives and performance marketing for brands in Sri Lanka and beyond.

Asked what founders here need, his answer was about community: “Each and everyone can learn from each other and build new things. The Sri Lankan ecosystem will come to that level, like what Europe and other countries do.”

Events like this are where that happens. We came away with new connections, fresh ideas for our own agent work, and a clear sense that Colombo’s builder community is growing fast. The organisers plan to take the meetup to Kandy and Galle next.
